IPC (Pelindo II) has announced that it will start developing the Tanjung Sauh Port on Batam Island in collaboration with Chinese Merchant’s Group. The construction of the project is expected to cost $515 million USD and will be executed in several phases.
In the first quarter of 2013, Pelindo II (Persero) reported a sharp rise in revenue and net profits. The company has recorded a 24% growth in revenue to $161.39 million USD due to higher traffic at its 12 ports under management, particularly at Tanjung Priok.
IPC has issued an invitation for tender applications from international terminal operators for the New Priok Port. The company is offering a 49% stake in a joint venture operation for operating the second and third terminals of what will be the largest port in the country.
