On 13th April 2016, Dan Liris hosted delegates from Indonesia Fashion Forward (IFF) – a programme initiated by Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) in cooperation with the British Council with the goal of furthering the development of an innovative and globally-competitive fashion industry in Indonesia. IFF is specifically focused on supporting up-and-coming local designers poised to influence and shape the latest trends on the international stage. Received in person by Ms Michelle Tjokrosaputro as the CEO of Dan Liris, the group of 45 delegates was taken on a full-day comprehensive tour of Dan Liris’ manufacturing facilities to gain a first-hand insight into the company’s quality-focused production processes as well as its expertise in the creation of batik prints.

Dan Liris’ guests from IFF and JFW were also provided with the opportunity to visit a factory outlet for the company’s in-house batik retail brand Bateeq which has continued to grow in national prominence on the back of an ongoing expansion process as well as its participation in marquee fashion shows. Other activities conducted over the course of the visitation included a tour of other companies within Danliris Group namely PT Ambassador Garmindo, PT Efrata Retailindo, and PT Multiyasa Abadi Sentosa, within the greater scope of IFF and JFW’s trip to the area to meet with several of Indonesia’s leading textile manufacturers. It is hoped that the trip will pave the way for future cooperation between Indonesian designers and textile and garment companies so as to support the development of the fashion industry in Indonesia.
