The latter half of December 2013 marked the opening of three new retail outlets for Dan Liris’ Bateeq brand. Having already established notable market presence through its stores in Jakarta, Serpong, Cibubur, Kuta and Malang; the company expanded its network of outlets to include branches in Bandung, Cibinong and Karawaci. As is the case with all Bateeq stores, these outlets are strategically located in premier malls that appeal to Indonesia’s young demographic, such as Supermall Karawaci and Cihampelas Walk. The stores offered a 15% discount to all customers during the first two weeks in celebration of their successful opening.

First launched in mid-2013 following a period of extended research and market analysis, Bateeq was create to challenge batik’s conservative image and to envisage a new way of looking at batik. In striving to achieve these goals, Dan Liris developed a modern line of batik clothing that allows wearers to feel proud of the product’s cultural heritage and fashionable at the same time. The introduction of the products to the market demonstrated immediate positive results. With the establishment of three new stores in West Java, Dan Liris has quickly increased its number of Bateeq retail outlets to ten and consolidated its reputation as a trendsetter in Indonesia’s batik industry.
