On 20th February 2014, Sriboga Flour Mill formally launched its latest innovation in logistics with the introduction of a bulk flour delivery service offered to B2B customers. Following the construction of a new 1,495 m2 distribution and warehouse facility in the Delta Silicon Industrial Park in Cikarang, West Java; the company is now ready to serve customers that require/prefer wheat flour to be delivered directly into silos. The successful completion of this project comes after extensive cooperation between Sriboga Flour Mill and one its shareholders, Mitsubishi Corporation. In 2013 these companies developed plans to begin supplying wheat flour to B2B customers in bulk instead of using bags, as a means of increasing the efficiency of the supply chain process.
Sriboga’s logistics facility in Cikarang required an investment of 9 billion IDR, and distributes wheat flour sent from the company’s factory in Semarang, Central Java. Wheat flour delivered to customers from this distribution centre is poured into bulk tanker trucks that can hold up to 20 tonnes via the facility’s feeding room (+6m elevation). These tanker trucks then immediately transport and transfer the product into silos made available by customers at their manufacturing facilities. To expedite the transfer process, Sriboga Flour Mill's tanker trucks are fully equipped with blowers capable of transferring 6 tonnes of wheat flour per hour. Moreover, to ensure that products delivered via bulk transport exactly match the weight ordered, Sriboga carries out a digital scale weighing process in its feeding room prior to sending trucks out for delivery.
As a leader in Indonesia’s flour production industry, Sriboga Flour Mill is always looking for new avenues to pursue innovation and improve upon the breadth of its products and services. With the implementation of a new logistics system, the company has made substantial improvements to supply chain efficiency and is now positioned to reach out to a wider range of potential customers.
