On 7th November 2016, Sarinah signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with esteemed state-owned enterprise (SOEs), Bank BRI which seeks to improve synergies between both companies. Sarinah continues to increase the scope of future cooperation with SOEs in keeping with the government’s aim of maximising efficiency amongst state-owned institutions. The MOU signing was carried out by Director of Bank BRI, Mr Sis Apik Wijayanto and President Director of Sarinah, Ms Handriani Tjatur Setijowati in Jakarta.

Sarinah and Bank BRI will strive to bring about mutual benefits that are also in-line with the principle of good corporate governance. Moreover, the MOU will additionally motivate Sarinah and its partner to boost efficiency and improve upon its business development strategies so as to propel their growth trajectory; the duration of the partnership will take place for a year. As such, Sarinah is expected to adopt innovative sales and marketing techniques working alongside Bank BRI in order to benefit its consumers. Previously, Sarinah offered special discounts to Bank BRI’s customers which were valid at Sarinah department stores across Indonesia. This measure illustrates the strong ties between both SOEs which is set to be maintained in the coming months.
