On 8th September 2016, iconic modern retailer Sarinah participated in the IBDExpo 2016, which is held at the Jakarta Convention Centre from 8th-11th September 2016. The expo serves as a business forum as well as an international trade show that showcases the diverse products, services and achievements of Indonesian state-owned enterprises. Through the event, Sarinah seeks to feature an array of high-quality local products manufactured by the company’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) partners.

President Director of Sarinah, Ms Handriani Tjatur Setiowati attended the opening ceremony as well as introduced visitors to the wide-ranging selections of Indonesian handicrafts, artwork products and premium quality batik garments. In showcasing its broad retail collection, Sarinah hopes to highlight its continued initiatives to support local SMEs; currently Sarinah cooperates with approximately 400 SMEs. Furthermore, as part of the company’s commitment to supporting SMEs, Sarinah will utilise the expo as a vehicle for making available local goods to international as well as local consumers, thus placing Sarinah at the forefront for high-quality Indonesian local products and an all-encompassing retail service.

The company’s most recent participation in the IBDExpo 2016 is set to strengthen its standing as a national asset as well as illustrating its capacity to facilitate the growth of Indonesian SMEs.
