Kamadjaja Logistics and CEO Ivan Kamadjaja were featured in the March 2014 edition of Globe Asia, a leading monthly business publication in Indonesia. The article touches upon the company’s recent construction of a new logistics hub, or K-Log Park, in Cibitung, West Java. Through an expansion plan that will now see Kamadjaja Logistics develop a further 9.5 hectares of land in Surabaya and Medan, the logistics service provider hopes to optimize phases of the delivery of cargo that currently suffer from inefficiencies in Indonesia. Loading and unloading activities, for example, will be better organized to ensure the smooth movement of goods via a fleet of over 400 trucks (200 operated in partnership with other firms) as well as an expansive and cutting edge warehousing management system.
As is detailed in Mr Kamadjaja’s interview with Globe Asia, Kamadjaja Logistics is already positioned as one of the three largest warehousing businesses in Indonesia, and stands to separate itself from competitors when the completion of its latest projects doubles the total size of warehouse facilities from 250,000 m2 to 500,000 m2. Moreover, Kamadjaja Logistics plans to introduce similar fully integrated logistics hubs in emerging cities such as Samarinda, Banjarmasin, and Makassar.
In addition to detailing the company’s domestic oriented plans, the feature article also provides insights into Kamadjaja Logistics’ strategy from a regional perspective. As explained by Mrs Ivy Kamadjaja, Chief Marketing Officer, Kamadjaja Logistics recognises the need to open offices in other ASEAN markets through joint ventures, given the introduction of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015. In the meantime, the company believes that the expansion of its facilities and network in Indonesia should serve to ensure that the country’s logistics industry remains competitive in an increasingly integrated ASEAN as well as address current infrastructural shortcomings that have in the past rendered logistics in Indonesia more costly than in neighbouring countries.
