Kamadjaja Logistics | Kamadjaja Logistics Featured in Special Edition of SWA Magazine
15.08.2013

Reflective of the company’s rising prominence in the Indonesian business sphere, Kamadjaja Logistics was recently featured in a special edition of SWA Magazine, a local business publication that previously recognized the logistics provider as one the top 250 domestic companies in Indonesia. The article, which covered in-depth information about the origins and business background of company founder and CEO, Mr Hura Kamadjaja, is indicative of Kamadjaja Logistics’ increasingly widespread recognition as a leading third party logistics provider.

As the magazine’s cover story, the piece provided a full account of Kamadjaja Logistics’ ability to establish long standing ties with several of Indonesia’s foremost multinational companies. The article describes how Kamadjaja Logistics was able to swiftly progress from distributing Unilever products out of Surabaya to small cities in 1979 to then becoming the sole provider of distribution and logistics services for Unilever in Indonesia. This reputation for being a trusted handler of post-production needs for Indonesia’s corporate giants has facilitated an expansion in Kamadjaja Logistics’ customer portfolio to include Nestle, Shell, Good Year, Procter & Gamble and Arnott’s.

In addition to its impressive client base, concrete evidence of Kamadjaja Logistics’ growth is made apparent in the article’s report that the company has experienced annual growth of 30 % to 40% every year for the last five years. Much of this success can be attributed to decisions made by the company’s second generation of leaders, who continue to invest in new warehouses and the capacity of the company’s human resources.

Kamadjaja Logistics’ emergence comes at a time when Indonesia’s logistics sector and infrastructure have been identified as key barriers to the country realising its economic potential. Between 2004 and 2011, Indonesia’s logistic costs on average accounted for 26% of GDP, the highest among ASEAN countries (World Bank). Kamadjaja Logistics continued investment in improving their wide array of services ensures that the company is well positioned to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s logistics sector and enable local businesses to compete effectively on a regional scale.
