From 6th - 7th September 2017, ENVIPLAST® participated at the 2017 ASIA Plastics Summit which was held at the JS Luwansa Hotel in Jakarta. The summit gathered leading players from the global plastics industry to promote and discuss the latest developments in plastics processing technology and new innovative material designs. In attendance for the ENVIPLAST® team was Dr Asmu Wahyu Saptorhardjo who was invited as a speaker to present the various potential applications of biodegradable plastics. Moreover, ENVIPLAST® provided participants with a tour of its factory to showcase the company’s manufacturing capabilities and its diverse product portfolio.
Attracting 190 delegates from local and international companies, the event featured a mini expo, panel discussions, as well as keynote presentations — there was a special focus on the increasing use of bioplastics for the automotive and packaging industry, as well as for consumer electronics in the ASEAN region. Furthermore, the summit also provided opportunities for networking and to exchange information and ideas on the key issues currently impacting the global plastics industry.
With Indonesia’s plastic sector showing strong growth of the back of the country’s consumption habits, there are growing concerns with regards to plastic waste management and the formation of microplastics in the environment. Through ENVIPLAST®’s participation at the ASIA Plastics Summit, the company demonstrated to industry leaders its capacity to adapt to industry demands for eco-friendly plastic products and therefore become the viable alternative to conventional plastics.
