On 16th September 2016, Inter Kimia Aneka Lestari received the Green Award for its in-house ENVIPLAST® brand at the ASEAN Plastics Awards event 2016, which was held in Bangkok, Thailand. In winning this award, ENVIPLAST® succeeded in overcoming 68 international companies from across ASEAN, demonstrating Inter Kimia Aneka Lestari’s continuous efforts in showcasing its ENVIPLAST® products as an alternative solution to the threat of micro-plastic waste.

Now running into its second year, the ASEAN Plastics Awards is organised by the ASEAN Federation of Plastic Industries (AFPI), and aims to promote greater intra-regional trade and investment as well as encourage collaboration amongst ASEAN member nations in technology transfer and research in order to advance the plastics industry in Southeast Asia. Participants at the event were judged based on four criteria namely Innovation and Function, Aesthetics, Environmental Concern and Overall Impression. ENVIPLAST® received the Green Award in recognition for the company’s pioneering role in creating novel bio-based polymer pellet products that are designed to have minimal social and environmental impact.   

In achieving this most recent accolade, Inter Aneka Lestari Kimia continues to carry out further research and development in the company’s pursuit for added-value innovation. As such, the company hopes to discover new applications for ENVIPLAST® and actively promote the global use of environmentally-friendly packaging materials.
