Mr Ali Soebroto Oentaryo presently holds the position of President Director of Panggung Electric Citrabuana and thereby oversees the group’s diverse operations in electronics manufacturing. As an esteemed figure in Indonesia’s electronics industry, Mr Oentaryo also serves as the Chairman of the Electronic Producers Association (GABEL).
Panggung Electric Citrabuana’s success in thriving as a local electronics manufacturer amidst rising international competition is built upon the group’s unwavering dedication to research and development. Through an in-house R&D centre, Panggung Electric offers comprehensive troubleshooting capabilities to address potential issues related to client product design – a competitive advantage that has seen the group establish itself as a proactive problem solver among its many market-leading clients. In addition to providing timely solutions to technical challenges that can arise in the lead up to full-scale production, the group also draws upon the skills of its R&D team to design and implement product features specifically catering to the Indonesian market. Panggung Electric has in the past been commended for its installation of a feature in televisions alerting users to check other household electrical equipment upon the occurrence of a rise or decline in mains voltage, and following on from a blackout. In this regard, the group demonstrates its nuanced understanding of the local consumer and the need to account for Indonesia’s often unstable voltage and power flow capacity.
The R&D centre at Panggung Electric also stands as a driving force behind the group’s ability to consistently adapt in line with evolving market demand. Investment in talented engineers equipped with the latest tools to innovate has facilitated Panggung Electric’s expansion into fields on the frontier of technological advancement in Indonesia, such as 4G LTE device manufacturing for the telecommunications industry and ecosystem. As such, the group intends to continue to tap into the strengths of this department in further positioning itself as a pioneer in electronics manufacturing, ready to meet demand for advanced products from local as well as international markets.
Faced with the challenge of promoting self-sufficiency and curbing the local market’s reliance on imports, Indonesia has in recent years taken to introducing stricter local content requirements mandating the increased use of domestically manufactured components. Initially implemented within the energy and power generation sector, this type of regulation is now being phased into the electronics and telecommunication industries, with the most recent law putting in place a 30% local content requirement for 4G smartphones and a 40% minimum for base transceiver stations. Panggung Electric Citrabuana, having first entered the field of wireless telecommunication components in 2010, is well-versed in manufacturing products that abide by these new regulations. Through cooperation with international partners such as Huawei, ZTE Corporation, and Seowon Intech, the group has developed the capacity to produce equipment used in base and subscriber stations for both WiMAX and LTE technology.
Among the group’s most recent developments is its cooperation with fast-rising local 4G network brand, Bolt, to develop a high-speed mobile Wi-Fi modem. Panggung Electric Citrabuana’s success in carrying out this project has been touted as a milestone achievement for Indonesia’s electronics manufacturing industry; demonstrative of the country’s readiness to begin locally producing advanced telecommunications equipment and complex electronic components on a larger scale. Given its proven expertise supported by knowledge sharing with international partners, Panggung Electric stands to play an integral role in Indonesia’s endeavour to shift the manufacturing sector towards value added goods.
Panggung Electric Citrabuana strives to be a world class company and in working towards this goal is fully committed to meeting its customer’s needs and requirements. As testament to this dedication, the group adheres to the strict guidelines mandated by its ISO-9001 Quality Management System Certification and thereby provides complete assurance to clients that its manufacturing activities and processes will consistently produce goods and services that satisfy the highest quality standards.
Panggung Electric’s quality management system encompasses four distinct phases, including incoming inspection (for raw materials), in-process inspection (for semi-finished products), outgoing inspection (for finished products) and special inspection (for finished products and parts).
Among the extensive range of tests conducted during the special inspection phase are the drop test, vibration test, aging test, reliability test as well as tests designed to analyze a product’s performance and durability at varying temperatures and voltages. This unit also oversees additional testing that needs to be completed in accordance with specific customer requirements or in line with current government regulations. Data obtained through these exhaustive quality assurance processes is used by Panggung Electric in conjunction with customer complaint records to take preventative and corrective action as part of the group’s continuous improvement program.
