Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills on 21st April 2016 hosted its latest initiative to encourage the development of Indonesia’s next generation of leaders and innovators by welcoming students from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) to its manufacturing facilities in Bandung, West Java. Currently enrolled in the university’s esteemed Faculty of Civil & Environmental Engineering, the students were particularly interested in visiting the company’s Waste Water Treatment System.

Since its establishment in 1982, Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills as a leading textile manufacturer has been fully committed to minimising the environmental impact of its production processes. In recognition of this dedication to the environment, the Environmental Management Agency of West Java in December 2015 awarded the company with the Blue PROPERDA award – a distinction provided to businesses deemed to have achieved high performance in taking steps to protect the environment.
As a company thoroughly committed to the continuous improvement of its internal operations, Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills from 17th to 18th October 2015 marked the start of a Quality Empowerment System program designed to raise productivity and build a positive corporate culture.
Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills in September 2015 was officially named a recipient of funds disbursed by Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry as part of an ongoing Textile Machinery Revitalization program being carried out to spur investment in modern manufacturing technology. Through this program, the government intends to allocate a total of 100 billion IDR from its 2015 budget to local textile manufacturers.
Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills successfully received its ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certification renewals from Transpacific Certifications Limited in early July 2015, standing as testament to the company’s commitment to quality control and environmental management.
Leading local textile manufacturer Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills launched its latest CSR initiative by partnering with one of Bandung’s most prominent private universities, Parahyangan Catholic University (also known as ‘Unpar’). The long-term partnership will see the company cooperate with Unpar’s Business Administration study programme to provide support to students with a passion for entrepreneurship.
Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills in late August 2015 marked the successful launch of a new scholarship programme demonstrative of the company’s support for its human resources. Through this programme, the company will cover the educational costs for the children of employees who have demonstrated high levels of academic achievement, and thereby play an important role in encouraging the attainment of knowledge and skills within the local community.
In keeping with its commitment to furthering the capabilities of Indonesia’s next generation of business leaders, Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills on 24th April 2015 sponsored the Purpose Driven Business Seminar in Bandung. Enthusiastic to lead a new wave of social entrepreneurs, Mr Alexander Foe as President Director shared his experiences leading a company dedicated to having a positive social impact.
In mid-April 2015, leading textile manufacturer Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills installed 24 sets of ZAX9200 Master Air Jet Loom machines from leading Japanese company Tsudakoma Corporation. The use of this machinery will reduce electrical consumption by at least 5% and substantially lower air consumption, in keeping with Nagasakti Kurnia Textile Mills’ plan to improve upon its energy efficiency.
