Established in the late 1960’s as a textile trading company, Shinta Group commenced manufacturing operations with the setting up of a knitting mill in 1971. In 1978, the Group pioneered the manufacture of polyester POY in Indonesia and continued to expand its manufacturing operations with the establishment of new companies in the textile chain. Its manufacturing operations now comprise of vertically integrated production facilities for polymers, polyester chips, fiber, yarn and fabrics. The manufacturing companies in the Group including PT Sulindafin, PT Sulindamills, PT Shinta Indah Jaya and PT Shintatex are both ISO 9001 and OEKO-TEX 100 certified.
Today, the Group is one of the leading polyester and textile producers in the country, offering a fully integrated range of products and providing customized solutions to clients’ needs. While its main raw material PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) is procured locally, Shinta Group currently imports MEG (Mono Ethylene Glycol) from Singapore and Saudi Arabia. The group sources POY (Partially Oriented Yarn) from markets in Asia such as Taiwan, Malaysia and China and also imports its greige fabric from suppliers based in China.
