Ms Dwina Septiani Wijaya has served as President Director and CEO of PT Bahana Pembinaan Usaha Indonesia (Persero) since June 2013. Having first joined the group in 1994, she previously held the position of Director and CFO between 2009 and 2013, as well as President Director of Bahana TCW Investment Management from 2003 to 2009. Ms Wijaya is also the present President Commissioner of both Graha Niaga Tata Utama and Bahana TCW Investment Management.
Bahana’s standing as a trustworthy and always reliable source of financial expertise and guidance belies its success in creating a deeply ingrained corporate culture that above all else prioritises prudence, integrity, collaboration and dynamism. These core values facilitate the continuous development of Bahana’s primary asset as a service oriented company: it’s highly motivated, skilled and ethical employees.
For Bahana, human resource development is a core pillar in its long-term strategy for continued growth and sustained high levels of performance. The group’s diverse operations in the finance sector have in common an emphasis on experience and a nuanced understanding of the Indonesian market. Bahana’s renowned research team, as an example, lays claim to more than 55 years of aggregate experience in the stock market and unsurprisingly consistently ranks first among other major brokers as provider of the most accurate forecast on company earnings in Indonesia.
To ensure continuity in the quality of its human resources, Bahana works with leading business schools in Indonesia such as the Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics to identify and employ the next generation of talent.
As testament to the proficiency of human resources at Bahana, many of the state owned enterprises’ employees have gone on to serve in c-suite level positions at other major SOEs. In keeping with the tenets of the Bahana corporate culture that encourages cooperation, this creates opportunities for the group to reach out to ‘alumni’ as a means of forming new partnerships and expanding its local network.
Bahana Securities has a proven track record in working with Indonesia’s most prominent corporations to carry out public listings, rights issues and other landmark transactions. The company in 2003 served as underwriter for the successful IPO of Perusahaan Gas Negara, the largest natural gas transportation and distribution company in Indonesia, and has more recently gone on to oversee the listing of a multitude of other industry leading state owned enterprises. This includes Wijaya Karya Beton, a notable manufacturer of pre-cast concrete; Semen Baturaja, producer of cement for the fast developing Sumatra region; and PP Properti, subsidiary of construction sector giant Pembangunan Perumahan. In addition to this Bahana Securities has in recent years conducted IPOs for private companies such as Sri Rejeki Isman, a pre-eminent player in the textiles industry.
Other key transactions include serving as underwriter for the rights issue of Indonesia's major commercial airlines, and providing financial advisory services for PT Inalum and BNI Life valuations. Bahana Securities has also worked extensively with Telkom Indonesia for a 2.6 trillion IDR private placement as well as with state owned electricity firm PLN for bond issuances.
In addition to working with notable companies, Bahana in July 2014 served as co-manager for the launch of Indonesia’s €1 billion ($1.37 billion USD) seven-year bond – the country’s first bond in the euro space.
