On 30th September 2015, BNI Syariah signed a cooperation agreement with state-owned electricity company, PT PLN (Persero), as part of the development of PLN’s P2APST payment system. Taking place at PLN’s headquarters in Jakarta, BNI Syariah was among a total of 58 national banks commencing a partnership with PLN that will see the implementation of a new feature allowing further convenience for customers in paying their electricity bills. BNI Syariah was represented by its Director of Operations, Mr Junaidi Hisom, in inaugurating the new agreement.

In commenting on the new feature made available by the cooperation, Mr Junaidi Hisom explained that by connecting PLN’s P2APST system to BNI Syariah’s own e-banking system, customers can now perform payments online. “Customers no longer have to take part in the usual queues at counters when paying electricity bills,” he said.

Through the new cooperation initiative, PLN seeks to enhance its services and also improve upon its operational efficiency. BNI Syariah as one of the participants in the agreement occupies a strategic role as part of the broader BNI network which encompasses 299 BNI Syariah outlets, more than 14,000 BNI ATMs and 1,700 BNI branch offices, as well as provides comprehensive accessibility through phone banking, mobile banking and internet banking services.
