BNI Syariah hosted a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) events on 14th and 19th June 2015 led by its President Director Mr Dinno Indiano and selected top level management members to commemorate the company’s 5th Milad (anniversary) since its spin-off from Bank Negara Indonesia. This year’s celebration fell in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan 1436H providing the bank with the timely opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to Hasanah principles characterised by acting in accordance with sound morals and virtuous intentions. In keeping with these core values, BNI Syariah distributed 138 braille Qurans, school materials for 3,550 orphans, Ramadan gift packages for 1,000 Islamic school teachers in the Jabodetabek and West Java regions, and a donation package for BNI account holders available at BNI Syariah branch offices.
The anniversary celebration event on 14th June 2015 began by inviting 3,000 staff members and their family members from the Jabodetabek area as well as company representatives to the Senayan area in Jakarta. As a community service initiative, BNI Syariah’s employee event included games on the topic of the Hasanah and Nasyid lifestyle as well as an auction for a limited edition Anajidan Helmet with proceeds going to victims of the Rohingya refugee crisis.
In keeping with the festivities of the Ramadan month, BNI Syariah also hosted a break fasting gathering on the evening of its official anniversary date, 19th June 2015, with employees, community members, and religious followers at the Sunda Kelapa mosque. This event was also attended by BNI Syariah’s senior level management, Mr Pung Purwarnto as Editor in Chief of the Seputar Indonesia newspaper, Mr Yuli Pujihardi as Director of Dompet Dhuafa, Mr Fatih Karim from Cinta Quran, and Ustad Boby Herwibowo from the Askar Kauny Foundation. Event attendees were provided with access to a series of Quran learning sessions as well as a mobile ATM through which BNI Syariah offered a zakat donation service option.
Over the past half-decade, BNI Syariah has strengthened its position as a prominent player in Indonesia’s Islamic banking sector making available superior customer services while standing firm in its commitment to corporate social responsibility through its Hasanah values. BNI Syariah’s 5th anniversary celebration exemplifies the qualities that have solidified its standing as one of Indonesia’s leading banking institutions.
