On 2nd June 2016, BNI Syariah received an award for ‘The Best Indonesia Digital Popular Brand 2016’ hosted by Transco Research at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Jakarta. The ceremony was held to highlight renowned local companies with a strong online brand presence in Indonesia.
In keeping up with the latest developments in the shariah banking industry, BNI Syariah participated in the Islamic Development Bank Expo at the Jakarta Convention Centre on 17th May 2016. The two day expo showcased BNI Syariah’s latest developments in Indonesia’s shariah banking sector.
On 20th April 2016, BNI Syariah hosted a press conference at its head office to announce strong first quarter profits amidst a global economic slowdown expected to place the local banking sector under considerable pressure in 2016. The bank continued to maintain growth by registering profits of 75.18 billion IDR - an increase of 64.42% compared to the previous year at 45.67 billion IDR.
On 5th April 2016 BNI Syariah for the third year running received an award for its shariah mortgage products at the Fifth Infobank Digital Brand of the Year 2016 event, held at the Hotel Le Meridien in Jakarta. The award was accepted during the ceremony by BNI Syariah Vice President, Ms Dhias Widhiyati.
On 1st April 2016, BNI Syariah inaugurated Agromart as a retail and distribution centre for agricultural and SME goods through a ribbon-cutting ceremony held in Randubelang Village, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. Ms Pitra Ardiyati as Head of BNI Syariah Yogyakarta presided over the event which officially launched the store aimed at empowering farmers and SMEs from the surrounding communities.
On 14th March 2016 BNI Syariah signed an MoU with PT Pegadaian that will make available additional financial services for hajj pilgrims. Through this partnership, customers who utilise Pegadaian’s services for hajj purposes will be entitled to open a BNI Syariah iB Baitullah Hasanah account to deposit their hajj savings.
On 25th February 2016 BNI Syariah held its annual shareholders meeting in Jakarta to discuss its annual financial report for the fiscal year ending 31st December 2015 as well as announce a restructuring of its Board of Directors.
BNI Syariah continued to maintain stable growth with regards to its financial performance by registering a 39.98% year-on-year increase in profits in 2015. This result was announced by Mr Dinno Indiano as the President Director of BNI Syariah in an official statement recently which came as positive news amidst the lacklustre economic climate impacting most business sectors in Indonesia.
On 26th January 2016, BNI Syariah hosted “The Journey of Hasanah” event at its Jakarta-based headquarters to celebrate the bank’s achievements over the past five years. The event programme also saw the launch of BNI Syariah’s Mobil Cerdas Hasanah mobile, a new Wall of Fame area as well as other facilities to be made available to retired BNI Syariah employees.
On 14th January 2016, BNI Syariah as one of Indonesia’s foremost Islamic banks signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank Aceh. The event marked the beginning of a partnership that will see BNI Syariah assist Bank Aceh in transforming into a Shariah-compliant general bank.
As part of its longstanding commitment to support the development of the next generation of Indonesian entrepreneurs, BNI Syariah on 28th October 2015 opened the Kompatriot Socialpreneur Centre in Randubelang Village, Yogyakarta.
On 9th October 2015, BNI Syariah received multiple awards at the WOW Service Excellence Awards 2015. Organized by MarkPlus Inc, the event saw BNI Syariah earn accolades in the categories of Best Islamic Bank; Gold Champion for the regions of Java-Bali, Sumatra and Kalimantan; and Consolation Prize for the regions of Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua.
On 30th September 2015, BNI Syariah signed a cooperation agreement with state-owned electricity company, PT PLN (Persero), as part of the development of PLN’s P2APST payment system. Taking place at PLN’s headquarters in Jakarta, the commencement of this partnership will see BNI Syariah implement a new e-banking feature allowing further convenience for customers in paying their electricity bills.
On 29th September 2015, BNI Syariah received ‘The Most Innovative Product in Shariah Market’ award for its Kartu Haji dan Umroh Indonesia product from MasterCard during the 2015 MasterCard Innovation Forum. Mr Dinno Indiano as President Director of BNI Syariah accepted the award at the event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
On 21st September 2015, BNI Syariah organised a workshop for journalists on the topic of “Shariah Banking in Facing Today’s Economic Conditions” that was attended by 27 media personnel from various online and printed publications. BNI Syariah’s Business Director Mr Imam Teguh Saptono chaired the main event with the company’s President Director Mr Dinno Indiano and Operational Director Mr Junaidi Hisom making an appearance.
BNI Syariah recorded significant year-on-year asset growth in the second quarter of 2015 despite the slowdown hampering Indonesia’s economy throughout the year and much of the previous year. Driven by increases in financing disbursements and third-party funds, BNI Syariah’s total assets grew by 20.19%, or 3.37 trillion IDR, to 20.85 trillion IDR compared to the same period in 2014.
BNI Syariah hosted a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) events on 14th and 19th June 2015 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of its spin-off, held in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan 1436H and incorporating the bank’s Hasanah principle within the event programmes.
BNI Syariah on 23rd April 2015 announced its strong financial performance for the first quarter of 2015. The Islamic banking subsidiary of state-owned Bank Negara Indonesia attributed this achievement to robust credit growth of 28.73% during the first three months of the year.
BNI Syariah on 5th April 2015 launched Kartu Migran Hasanah, an ATM card which enables Indonesian migrant workers across the world to carry out transactions at ATM terminals and merchants that display the MasterCard logo. Kartu Migran Hasanah was officially introduced in a launching ceremony held at the BNI Gallery building in Hong Kong.
BNI Syariah on 27th September 2014 released its financial performance figures for the third quarter (Q3) of 2014, in which the bank demonstrated strong growth despite a challenging economic climate attributed to Indonesia’s presidential election. As announced by President Director Mr Dinno Indiano, BNI Syariah’s total assets as of September 2014 grew by 31.48% year-on-year to reach 18.48 trillion IDR.
In recognition of their growing status as a recognised brand in Indonesia’s Islamic banking sector, BNI Syariah on 12th August 2014 was named the ‘Best Syariah Bank’ with assets over 10 trillion IDR by local business publication, Investor Magazine. This distinction came as part of the well-respected magazine’s annual Best Syariah Bank awards.
BNI Syariah on 21st July 2014 released the bank’s financial report for the first semester of 2014, providing the latest details on a rise in net profit as well as total assets relative to the same period last year. As reported by local media outlets such as Bisnis.com and Kontan, among the most notable financial results was a 22.2% increase in net profit, which increased from 54.4 billion IDR in 2013 to 66.5 billion IDR.
BNI Syariah on 14th December 2013 began operating out of its new headquarters strategically located in the Tempo Pavilion 1 Building in Kuningan, Jakarta. Prior to making this move, the bank’s operations were split between four different offices in the capital, namely in the BNI Building, the Landmark Tower, the Blok M Building and Sequis Plaza. Relocating to the new headquarters is thus widely expected to facilitate greater coordination and efficiency.

Both companies and individuals have a responsibility to preserve the environment for the next generation which is why BNI Syariah has made its corporate social responsibility programs focused on the environment as well as public health.
To mark the occasion of Earth Day on 22nd April 2013, BNI Syariah organised a public event to distribute plants as part of its CSR activities. Held on a car-free day on Jalan Surdirman, Central Jakarta, the event was attended by the President Director of BNI Syariah Mr Dinno Indiano and by the bank’s senior management.
BNI Syariah on 1st February 2013 marked the inauguration of its first ATM gallery in Thamrin City Mall, Jakarta. As the first ATM gallery in Indonesia dedicated to BNI Syariah retail customers, the unit is comprised of five cash withdrawal ATMs and one ATM for cash deposits (CDM). Through this gallery BNI Syariah customers will be able to enjoy an array of 24 hour services.
Bank BNI Syariah is optimistic that financing to the micro segment can surpass 1 trillion RP. This will be achieved via two strategies namely through the direct channeling of funds and through working in collaboration with Islamic microfinance institutions and cooperatives.
During 2012 PT Bank BNI Syariah financing grew by 44.85% to 7.69 trillion RP. This performance increase is due to many factors such as the expansion of the branch network for both retail and micro services as well as increased funding and a strengthened IT system by parent company BNI.
