Andalas University (UNAND) in partnership with USAID’s Higher Education Leadership and Management project and Arizona State University hosted the latest Leadership Education for Engineering Accreditation Program (LEEAP) workshop from 25th – 29th January 2016. The event which took place at the campus’ Senate Auditorium demonstrates Andalas University’s commitment to achieving international accreditation for its Faculty of Engineering.
On 31st October 2015, Andalas University signed an MoU with the Ministry of Agriculture to develop a science and technology park. The initiative is part of a broader plan from the ministry to develop a total of 22 such parks. Through the facility, researchers will be able to contribute to the development of new innovations for the sector that are expected to benefit farmers and agriculture-related SMEs.
Content: On 29th October 2015, Andalas University received the honour of having Prof. Dr. H. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the former president of Indonesia, present as the keynote speaker in an international conference hosted by the Padang-based university. Taking place at the convention hall of its Limau Manis campus, the conference on ‘Green Development in Tropical Regions’ succeeded in attracting an audience of thousands of students.
Andalas University in cooperation with USAID’s Higher Education Leadership and Management (USAID-HELM) project and Arizona State University (ASU) held another Leadership Education for Engineering Accreditation Program (LEEAP) workshop from 31st August to 4th September 2015, having previously held a similar event in June.
Andalas University from 27th to 29th August 2015 hosted the ACIKITA International Conference on Science and Technology. The conference served as the closing event of the ACIKITA Annual Meeting, a series of seminars in different cities throughout Indonesia organised by Aku Cinta Indonesia Kita (ACIKITA) Foundation, a non-governmental organisation focusing on education and science.
From 3rd to 6th June 2015, Andalas University held the Leadership in Engineering Education Accreditation Program workshop at its campus in cooperation with USAID and Arizona State University. This activity serves as part of an effort to strengthen its Faculty of Engineering to be on par with world-class higher-learning institutions throughout the globe.
On Monday, 11th May 2015, Andalas University extended a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Kementerian PPN/Bappenas). The MoU designates the university as one of 34 higher-learning institutions participating in the performance evaluation of its respective province’s government.
