In keeping with its commitment to the pursuit of continuous internal improvement, Tarumanagara University (UNTAR) in October 2015 celebrated the attainment of ‘A’ Accreditation for the Faculty of Medicine’s Medical Programme. Bestowed upon the university by Indonesia’s National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT), the distinction stands as testament to the superior quality of education offered at UNTAR and demonstrates the university’s expertise in the field of medicine. Fittingly, this achievement was announced during an event also held to mark the Faculty of Medicine’s 50th anniversary.
Speaking at the celebration event, Mr Gunardi S.H., M.H. as Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation touched upon the factors that contributed to UNTAR’s success in obtaining ‘A’ Accreditation for its Medical Programme, such as the Faculty of Medicine’s trusted reputation. Prof. Ir. Roesdiman Soegiarso, M.Sc., Ph.D. as Rector of UNTAR added that the continued development of young lecturers and upgraded university facilities also played a significant role during the accreditation process. As was explained by Dr. Melani Kumala, M.S., Sp.GK, UNTAR should be especially proud of this achievement given that there are only a handful of medical programmes at private universities to have been given this ranking by BAN-PT.
