Tarumanagara University (UNTAR) on 7th September 2015 took its latest step in building upon an expansive network of international partners by hosting a delegation from the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) at the Executive Lounge of its campus in Jakarta. Welcomed by UNTAR’s rector, Professor Ir. Roesdiman Soegiarso, the delegation was comprised of several of UMKC’s most esteemed representatives, including Mr Wilson Sy Ang as Director for China & Asia Pacific Operations, Dr. Kevin Truman as Vice Provost and Dean for the School of Computing & Engineering, and Dr. Michael Kruger as Associate Dean for the College of Arts & Sciences.
As a means of formalizing plans to collaborate going forward, the representatives from the two universities initiated their meeting with a MoU signing that encompasses an agreement to work together in developing a joint programme for students looking to pursue a dual degree. Through intensive discussions between UNTAR’s deans and the delegates, the universities also expressed their interest in initiating student and faculty exchange as well as joint seminars. This visitation therefore served to reinforce UNTAR’s longstanding commitment to cooperating with leading institutions of higher education overseas, so as to ensure the university’s readiness to adapt to academic developments around the world.
