Tarumanagara University (UNTAR) on 11th June 2015 formalized its plan to collaborate with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and Sucorinvest Central Gani during an event held at the university’s second campus in Jakarta. To mark this major event, Dr. Sawidji Widoatmodjo, S.E., M.M., M.B.A. as UNTAR’s Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Mr Adikin Basirun as the Director of IDX (and UNTAR alumni member), and Ms Ratih D. Item as a Director of Sucorinvest Central Gani, participated in an official cooperation agreement signing.

The ceremony was initiated by an opening speech from UNTAR’s Rector, Prof. Ir. Roesdiman Soegiarso, M.Sc., Ph.D., which touched upon the development of Indonesia’s capital market and its close alignment with UNTAR’s continued emphasis on entrepreneurial values. Prof. Soegiarso also discussed the importance of an Investment Gallery launched as a result of the collaboration between UNTAR and its two partners. Through this new facility, added Dr. Widoatmodjo, it is hoped that UNTAR’s students will develop new skills and further their capabilities to pursue successful careers through a thorough understanding of capital markets.

In providing his remarks on the cooperation agreement, Mr Basirun as IDX’s Director reiterated that he would always feel proud to return to UNTAR as an alumni member and would seek to contribute to the university’s prestigious reputation. Both he and Ms Ratih as Sucorinvest’s Director agreed that this collaboration with UNTAR is a positive step forward in developing a new generation of young minds equipped to draw upon opportunities in Indonesia’s capital market.
