Distributor of premium quality fresh fruit, Sewu Segar Nusantara, hosted its biannual Fruit Summit on 19th September 2015 at La Piazza – Kelapa Gading in tandem with its latest campaign launch of "100% Local Fruits". Members of top level management present during the official kick-off ceremony for the new campaign included Managing Director Mr Martin M. Widjaja, Marketing and Communications Manager Ms Luthfiany Azwawie, and Product Group and Local Sourcing Manager Ms Sulina Parjono as well as special guest speaker, Mr Jansen Ongko, who is also a registered nutritionist. Staying true to its motto of 'living fun and healthily', fellow ‘fruitaholics’ in attendance were also provided with entertainment in the form of two game stations, a fruit-themed photo booth, a range of food stations incorporating fresh fruit as the main ingredient, and a host of social media contests during the Fruit Summit 2015.
The latest campaign from the distributor of Sunpride© and Sunfresh© products encourages local fruit consumption to support Indonesia’s horticulture industry in facing the ASEAN Economic Community in 2016. During the opening speech, Mr Martin M. Widjaja reiterated that Sewu Segar Nusantara’s leading fruits such as the Cavendish banana, crystal guava, HONI pineapple, and California papaya are cultivated on Indonesian soil despite the belief that Sunpride© is an international brand. As such, the success of SSN’s sister company PT Nusantara Tropical Farm in cultivating and harvesting Sunpride©’s principal fruits demonstrates local industry players’ ability to thrive amidst the rising number of international competitors. The event programme also included a session with Mr Jansen Ongko who shared information on the benefits of fresh fruit consumption in keeping with the growing trend of healthier lifestyles in Indonesia.
With the success of Fruit Summit 2015, Sewu Segar Nusantara illustrates its upper-hand as the foremost local fresh fruit distributor built by maintaining a strong relationship with Sunpride© consumers. As the ASEAN Economic Community is fast approaching, SSN will step up its efforts to introduce local and international markets to some of Indonesia’s finest fresh fruits in line with the company’s belief in the Indonesian horticulture industry’s enormous potential.
